Paolo Chiavaroli is a jazz-rock drummer with many musical influences. He’s been inspired by great drummers such as Tony Williams, Steve Gadd, Vinnie Colaiuta, Dave Weckl, Peter Erskine. Born in Loreto Aprutino (PE) Italy, January 19th,1977 began playing drums around the age of 15, initially as a self-taught, with the various bands he took part. From 2000 to 2007 he studied with the teacher Ettore Mancini (ex former director of the Drums Faculty at the “Music University of Rome” with a strong national reputation). In those years he followed clinics of many drummers such Vinnie Colaiuta, Daniel Gottlieb, Dave Weckl, Mike Mangini, Ellade Bandini, Franco Rossi, Agostino Marangolo, Massimo Manzi, Christian Meyer, Giorgio Di Tullio, Sergio Bellotti, Thomas Lang, attended the "Studio Recording" course with Lele Melotti at the Music Academy of Milan. In Cuba took lessons from master Jose Luis Quintana, better known as Changuito, approaching more to the Afro-Cuban music. In 2005 he attended music courses at the school Percentomusica in Rome,and "Berklee in Umbria" at the Umbria Jazz Festival, studying with drummer Ron Savage and bassist Oscar Stagnaro (Paquito D'Rivera , Alex Acuna ..). In july 2012 He attended the Columbia College of Chiago jazz seminaries at the Pescara Conservatory where studied for one year more. He has played with many bands, in different styles, rock, pop, blues and jazz, performing in many clubs and festivals like “Pistoia Blues 2004”, “International Accordion Jazz Festival”, “MareBlues Festival”, throughout Italy. In 2008 He moved to Los Angeles, CA where he recorded for producer Philip Giffin (www.philipgiffin.com). He also recorded drums for various artists and toured across Latin America and Europe. He studied for one year at the Conservatory “L. D’Annunzio” in Pescara. He’s released his first solo album of jazz/fusion music, featuring the great Mike Miller on guitar (Chick Corea, Gino Vannelli, George Duke, BozzScaggs..), with latin, funk and rock influences.
